The Hydromatics - [1999] Parts Unknown

Sei lá como isso vei parar na minha mão, só sei que é muito, muito bom. É tipo Hellacopters, mas mais legal. Por acaso, tem o Nick Royale na bateria e produção, mas a graça mesmo é o Scott Morgan nos vocais/guitarra. O cara é fera mesmo. Eu ouço muita gente falar de Stooges, MC5, Sonic Rendezevous Band mas eu num acho tudo isso não. Mas esse Morgan, que foi da Rendezevous é fodão mesmo. A versão de "Baby Won't Ya" do MC5 é fodona, mas não tão legal quanto a original. Muito divertido, vale conferir. Top 3: "Earthy", "No Justice (In Rock 'N' Roll) e "Baby Won't Ya". Pra quem gosta de: The Hellacopters, Sonic Rendezevous Band, MC5, Thunder Express e Nitwitz.

Don't know how this came into my hands, but it's good. Very, very good. Like Hellacopters, but maybe even better. Well, Nick Royale play drums and do the production duties in this one, but the main thing, what really shines in this record is guitar/vocal Scott Morgan. He's a pro, definitely. I'm not a huge fan of MC5, Stooges and Sonic Rendezevous sound, but this album is flawless. The cover of MC5's "Baby Won't Ya" is great, almost like the original. Great record, good to listen at anytime. Top 3: "Earthy", "No Justice (In Rock 'N' Roll) and "Baby Won't Ya". Pra quem gosta de: The Hellacopters, Sonic Rendezevous Band, MC5, Thunder Express and Nitwitz.

Beaver - [1999] Lodge

Nem só de Leite Moça vive a Holanda hein?! Beaver é de lá, mas já acabou infelizmente. Enfim, o que eu acho que difere um Solarized (meia boca) pra um Monster Magnet (ótimo!!!) e um sHEAVY (meia boca também) pra um Clutch (ótima!!!) na maioria das vezes é o vocal. E o Beaver é mais ou menos por aí. O instrumental, apesar de ótimo, não é a coisa mais original do mundo, mas eu acho o vocal do Roel Schoenmakers um diferencial que vale a pena dar uma atenção mais especial pra banda. Som pesado e pra frentex! Top 3: "Static", "Tarmac" e "Interstate". Pra quem gosta de: Kyuss, Soundgarden, Dozer, Black Sabbath e Tummler.

Dutch band Beaver unfortunately end somewhere in the 2000's but, why not to remember then? Singer Roel Schoenmakers is the differencial between Beaver and most of the stoner rock bands around. What a talented vocalist! Lodge is my favorite Beaver's album and one of the best in the genre. Top 3: "Static", "Tarmac" and "Interstate". For those who likes: Kyuss, Soundgarden, Dozer, Black Sabbath and Tummler.

Queens Of The Stone Age / Beaver - [1998] The Split CD

Esse split é da época que o Queens Of The Stone Age não era tão famoso assim. Vale por "The Bronze", ja que a outra faixa é instrumental. Quanto ao Beaver, eles eram uma boa banda da Holanda que permanece na geladeira desde 2002. Mas eles tem pegada, qualquer dos outros discos deles são altamente recomendados. Pra quem gosta de: Dozer, Kyuss, Truckfighters, Nebula e Orange Goblin.

This split record was released when QOTSA was not so famous yet. But "The Bronze" makes it worth. Beaver was a good band from Netherlands that is on hiatus since 2002. All the records by both bands are highly recomended. For those who likes: Dozer, Kyuss, Truckfighters, Nebula and Orange Goblin.
