Esse é o clássico dos clássicos do Stoner Rock. Todo mundo esperava por esse disco antes de ele sair e todo mundo copiou depois. Referência de 11 em 10 bandas do tal Stoner Rock. Todas as faixas são perfeitas e, podem jogar as pedras, mas pra mim o verdadeiro baixista do Kyuss é o Scott Reeder e não o Nick Olivieri. Fácil fácil um dos meus 10 discos preferidos de todos os tempos. Ou não! Top 3: "Supa Scoop and Mighty Scoop", "100°" e "Conan Troutman". Pra quem gosta de: Queens Of The Stone Age, Nebula, Beaver, Monster Magnet e Masters Of Reality.

This is the classic of all classics! Stoner Rock never was the same after this record was released in 1994. Maybe one of the most copied albums of all time. Every single track is perfect. And I know that much of the fans think that Nick Olivieri is the greatest bassist that ever played for Kyuss, but for me, Scott Reeder is the real one. Anyway, this album is one of my all time favorite. Listen VERY VERY VERY LOUD! Top 3: "Supa Scoop and Mighty Scoop", "100°" and "Conan Troutman". For those who likes: Queens Of The Stone Age, Nebula, Beaver, Monster Magnet and Masters Of Reality.

Masters Of Reality - [1991] Sunrise On The Sufferbus

Esse disco é pra mim o que o Led Zeppelin II foi pra uma geração inteira. Infelizmente, esse som é completamente esquecido pelo mundo. Tudo nele é perfeito. Os riffs, os vocais, o baixo e a bateria pulsante, essa a cargo do Ginger Baker, aquele mesmo, do Cream. Chris Goss é um gênio pra mim e fácil fácil um dos guitarristas mais legais que já ouvi na minha vida. "J.B. Witchdance" tem uma levada e história muito legais e "Rolling Green" é uma das músicas mais bonitinhas que eu já ouvi. Mas o destaque é "100 Years (Of Tears In The Wind)". Uma das musicas mais sexys que eu já ouvi e que me lembra, sei lá por que, "We're Going Wrong" do Cream. Destaque também para as blueseiras "V.H.V." e "She Got Me (When She Got Her Dress On)". Até as vinhetas ("Madonna" e "Bycicle") são ótimas. Maravilhoso! Top 3: Todas são ótimas! Pra quem gosta de: Cream, Black Crowes, Budgie, Led Zeppelin e The Atomic Bitchwax.

This record is for me what Led Zeppelin II was for a generation. Unfortunately, it's still underrated and forgotten. Everything here is perfect. The vocals, the guitar parts, bass lines and the presence of Ginger Baker (more known from a little band called Cream)... Chris Goss is a genius and one of the best guitar players i've ever heard. J.B. Witchdance, with lyrics about "naked witches dancing in the moonlight" and Rolling Green, one of the cutest songs I've ever heard, are one of the high points in this record. But the best song is 100 Years (Of Tears In The Wind), one of the sexiest songs that was made in the history. The blues numbers V.H.V and She Got Me (When She Got Her Dress On) shows the guitar skills of Goss and even the small ones , "Madonna" and "Bycicle" shows why this record is perfect. Wondeful! Top 3: only 3? Every song is top here! For those who likes: Cream, Black Crowes, Budgie, Led Zeppelin and The Atomic Bitchwax.

Mark Lanegan contou com uma enxurrada de amigos (Chris Goss, Josh Homme, Nick Olivieri, PJ Harvey, Izzy Stradlin, etc.) pra gravar este que é seu ultimo disco solo. Desde então, ele esteve mais envolvido em parcerias (Queens Of The Stone Age, Isobel Campbell, Gutter Twins, etc...). Mais sujo e experimental que os antecessores, este disco é carregado de boas músicas, com exceção de "Can't Come Down" que é chatinha, chatinha. Um dos melhores de sua carreira. Top 3: "One Hundred Days" , "Like Little Willie John" , "Morning Glory Wine". Pra quem gosta de: Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, Queens Of The Stone Age e The Doors.

Mark Lanegan has a little help of his friends (Alain Johannes, Chris Goss, Josh Homme, Nick Olivieri, PJ Harvey, Izzy Stradlin, etc.) to record his last solo album. Nowadays, he's been more busy with other projects (Queens Of The Stone Age, Isobel Campbell, Gutter Twins, etc...). More dirty and experimental than his predecessors, this record is full of good blues-based songs, with an exception of "Can't Come Down", wich is a little annoying. But this is easily one of his best records. Top 3: "One Hundred Days" , "Like Little Willie John" , "Morning Glory Wine". For those who likes: Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Doors.

The Duke Spirit - [2008] Neptune

O segundo disco dessa nova banda inglesa tem a produção do Chris Goss (ele de novo por aqui) e me agradou muito. A vocalista Liela Moss tem uma voz muito legal e som tem boas levadas de guitarra. Melhor banda que apareceu no rock inglês dos ultimos anos. Não sei se é dedo do produtor, mas "Lassoo" me lembra "High Noon Amsterdam" do Masters Of Reality. Top 3: "The Step And The Walk" , "This Ship Was Built To Last" , "Lassoo". Pra quem gosta de: Oasis, The Kills, Patti Smith, The Jesus And Mary Chain e Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The second record from this new english band received the treatment of Chris Goss in the soundboard and really enjoys me. Liela Moss has a beautiful voice and the band is very cohesive too with good guitar rhythyms. One of the best bands that appear in British Rock in the last couple of years. Don't know if it is an influence of Goss in the production, but "Lassoo" reminds me "High Noon Amsterdam" from Masters Of Reality. Top 3:"The Step And The Walk" , "This Ship Was Built To Last" , "Lassoo". For those who likes: Oasis, The Kills, Patti Smith, The Jesus And Mary Chain e Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Goon Moon - [2007] Lickers Last Leg

Chris Goss, também conhecido como homem-multiplo, pois cada dia da com um projeto/banda/produção/participação nova, se juntou ao Jeordie White (também conhecido como Twiggy Ramirez pelos fãs de Marilyn Manson) pra brincar num estudio e tudo mais. O resultado foi o disco I Got a Brand New Egg Layin' Machine de 2005. Em 2007 a dupla resolveu levar a brincadeira a sério e lançaram esse disco que é ... humm ... estranho. É bom, mas é um pouco doido, fugindo dos outros trabalhos dos dois no Masters Of Reality e no Marylin Manson. O legal é que os dois são excelentes guitarras e vocalistas, e dividem as tarefas de forma bem igualitária. O som passa desde um rock estilo Beatles até um som bem stoner, passando até por uma cover dos Bee Gees, a faixa "Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You". Eu gostei! Top 3: "My Machine", "Pin Eyed Boy" , "Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You". Pra quem gosta de: Masters Of Reality, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age e Tool.

Chris Goss, also known as multiple-man, joined Jeordie White (Twiggy Ramirez on Marylyn Manson) in 2005 to record some ideas without some major pretentious. But them, they decided to took the thing a little serious in 2007, so they release this strange, but good record. The sound is very different from their respective bands. The interesting point is that they shared all the vocals wich sounds great to me. Very good! Top 3: "My Machine", "Pin Eyed Boy" , "Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You". For Those Who Likes: Masters Of Reality, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age e Tool.

Kyuss - [1993] Blues For The Red Sun

Os papas do stoner rock! Acho que esse é o principal disco do genero. O Chris Goss (Deus) que produziu. Influenciou uma porrada de gente que veio depois e tals. Incrivel como tudo que o Josh Homme faz é ao mesmo tempo complexo e pop. Pesadão mas com melodias bem acessiveis. Tem um monte de instrumentais legais tipo Apothecaries' Weight que é uma jam bem louca e tals e Capsized que é acustica e bem curtinha. Fora que a sequência Thumb e Green Machine é absurda de boa! Discão! Meu Top 3: "Thumb"; "Green Machine" ; "Allen's Wrench". Pra quem gosta de: Queens Of The Stone Age, Soundgarden, Monster Magnet, Masters Of Reality, Black Sabbath e stoner rock!!!

The godfather`s of stoner rock! This record defines the genre. Chris Goss was the man in the production of this record, wich still influences a lot of bands in the world of stoner rock. Josh Homme can make anything pop and complex at the same time. Loud and heavy but melodic. With a couple of cool instrumentals like Apothecaries' Weight and Capsized, an a short and acoustic song. The start with Thumb and Green Machine is a classic. Fantastic Record!!! Top 3: "Thumb"; "Green Machine" ; "Allen's Wrench". For those who likes: Queens Of The Stone Age, Soundgarden, Monster Magnet, Masters Of Reality, Black Sabbath and stoner rock!!!

Masters Of Reality - [1989] Masters Of Reality (The Blue Garden)

Ó nóis aqui traveis. Esse é o primeiro disco da banda mais injustiçada da história do rock na minha opinião. O Masters of Reality é daquelas bandas em que vc não sabe se o cara é a banda ou a banda é o cara, tipo o Megadeth, o Whitesnake, o NIN, essas coisa caótica ... Chris Goss, guitarrista, vocalista, letrista, careca e produtor nas horas vagas, é o responsável por essa maravilha dos anos 80 que na época ameaçou fazer sucesso, mããããs ... alguem desconversou o assunto. Chris é facil facil o melhor guitarrista dos anos 80 (Eddie Van Halen é meu ovo!). Pra quem não sabe, ele foi/é o guru do Kyuss e do Queens Of The Stone Age e pode ser considerado um precursor da cena stoner rock nos EUA. Quanto ao disco, bom, ele tem umas duzentas versões diferentes, com a ordem das musicas alteradas e, em alguns casos, com uma faixa a mais, "Doraldina's Prophecies" . Essa versão aqui upada é a original, primeirona, sem a tal Doraldina, com a primeira capa ainda, que era dupla e que era bonita bagaray. Eu acho uma das capas mais bonitas q eu já vi. Ou não. Aos poucos eu coloco mais coisas deles aqui. Meu top 3: "Domino", "The Blue Garden" e "Kill The King". Pra quem gosta de: Cream, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Queens Of The Stone Age, Monster Magnet, Nebula e Kyuss.
