Só orgão e bateria, mais nada. Na enxurrada provocada pelo White Stripes de duos de blues-rock, os Heavies aparecem com um jeitão diferente e muito, muito legal. Eu num sabia que dava pra usar Hammond e bateria tão bem que nem a dupla o faz. Eles simplesmente destroem! Se você ja cansou daqueles blues com solos de guitarra interminaveis e esta mais para o ritmo, BDH é a banda pra você. Top 3: "Fever In My Blood", "Poor Brown Sugar" e "White Bitch". Mechanics - [2007] Music For Anthropomorphics

Não há muito o que dizer sobre esse disco. Usando adjetivos, é pesado, sujo, soturno e muito divertido. "Cow" é uma das melhores musicas feitas no rock brasileiro dos ultimos anos. Sem muito o que falar, apreciem. Top 3: "Shadow", "Cow" e "War". Pra quem gosta de: The Jesus Lizard, Melvins, The Stooges, MQN e NIN.

There isn't a lot to say about this album. It's just one of the most fucked up records that I've had listen in my life. Loud, dirty, noisy and very, very fun. "Cow" is flawless. Howlin Rain - [2009] Wild Life

Gosto muito do Howlin Rain, principalmente os dois primeiros discos. Esse terceiro é mais parecido com o Comets On Fire, a outra banda do Ethan Miller (g,v). Duas faixas, 15 minutos cada e jams e mais jams. Meio doido. Prefiro os outros trabalhos deles, mas Wild Life é bem interessante também. I love Howlin Rain's first two album and this third one is good too. It sounds more like the other Ethan Miller's (g,v) band, Comets On Fire. Two songs, fifteen minutes and a lot of jams, kind o crazy, but very interesting. For those who likes: Comets On Fire, The Black Crowes, Gov't Mule, Black Mountain and CSNY.

Muita coisa legal foi lançada esse ano e eu escolho esse terceiro disco do Turn Me On Dead Man como o melhor lançamento de 2009. O novo do Wolfmother é muito bom também, assim como o do Black Crowes e do Heaven & Hell, mas o TMODM é a banda que mais promete pra mim. Os outros dois discos anteriores são ótimos também, tanto que é difícil apontar qual é o melhor da banda. O som é uma espécie de Soundgarden com Smashing Pumpkins com Led Zeppelin com The Cult com mais um monte de coisa legal. Altisisisisisisisimamente recomendádo! Top 3: "Tiny Gods" , "The White Witch" e "Creamside. Pra quem gosta de: Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Wolfmother, Them Crooked Vultures e Boris.

2009 was a year with a lot of great releases and Turn Me On Dead Man's third album is the best album of the year in my opinion. Wolfmother second album almost made the first place, but TMODM is even better than the Andrew Stockdale's band. Well, Black Crowes and Heaven & Hell was great to, but TMODM is the shit! Sounds like Soundgarden mixed with Smashing Pumpkins mixed with Led Zeppelin mixed with The Cult mixed with a lot of other good stuff. Or something like that. Listen very loud! Top 3: "Tiny Gods" , "The White Witch" and "Creamside. For those who likes: Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Wolfmother, Them Crooked Vultures and Boris.

The Hydromatics - [1999] Parts Unknown

Sei lá como isso vei parar na minha mão, só sei que é muito, muito bom. É tipo Hellacopters, mas mais legal. Por acaso, tem o Nick Royale na bateria e produção, mas a graça mesmo é o Scott Morgan nos vocais/guitarra. O cara é fera mesmo. Eu ouço muita gente falar de Stooges, MC5, Sonic Rendezevous Band mas eu num acho tudo isso não. Mas esse Morgan, que foi da Rendezevous é fodão mesmo. A versão de "Baby Won't Ya" do MC5 é fodona, mas não tão legal quanto a original. Muito divertido, vale conferir. Top 3: "Earthy", "No Justice (In Rock 'N' Roll) e "Baby Won't Ya". Pra quem gosta de: The Hellacopters, Sonic Rendezevous Band, MC5, Thunder Express e Nitwitz.

Don't know how this came into my hands, but it's good. Very, very good. Like Hellacopters, but maybe even better. Well, Nick Royale play drums and do the production duties in this one, but the main thing, what really shines in this record is guitar/vocal Scott Morgan. He's a pro, definitely. I'm not a huge fan of MC5, Stooges and Sonic Rendezevous sound, but this album is flawless. The cover of MC5's "Baby Won't Ya" is great, almost like the original. Great record, good to listen at anytime. Top 3: "Earthy", "No Justice (In Rock 'N' Roll) and "Baby Won't Ya". Pra quem gosta de: The Hellacopters, Sonic Rendezevous Band, MC5, Thunder Express and Nitwitz.

The Diamond Dogs - [2008] It's Most Likely

Sei que eles tem uma discografia extensa, mas esse é o unico que conheço. E é muito bom! Sou meio contra bandas retrô, mas tem umas que fazem a coisa tão bem feita que o som acaba ficando atual. Esse Diamond Dogs é tipo um Faces com Black Crowes e tals. Claro que o vocal num é um Chris Robinson nem um Rod Stewart, mas ainda assim é fodão. O disco é mais baladeiro do que rockeiro e eu senti falta de uma guitarra mais na cara, mas o legal é que na primeira audição, você se pega cantando as musicas já. Muito bom mesmo. Top 3: "Roll This Motor Home" , "Wilko Johnson's Eye" e "One Of Those Tears". Pra quem gosta de: The Black Crowes, The Faces, Izzy Stradlin, Thunder Express e The Rolling Stones.

They've recorded a lot of records through the 90's and 2000's but this one is the only one that I know. And it's great! I'm not a fan of retro bands, but they know how to do the sound in a way that makes it fresh. There isn't a lot of guitars in this album, but the melodies are good a nd the vocals really shines over the whole record. Not a Chris Robinson or a Rod Stewart, but it still very good. Listen and start to singalong instantly. Top 3: "Roll This Motor Home" , "Wilko Johnson's Eye" and "One Of Those Tears". Little Feat - [1973] Dixie Chicken

Little Feat é uma banda que me lembra uma época muito legal quando eu me mudei para Belo Horizonte. Ouvia todos os dias na volta da faculdade. Sei lá por que, bateu uma nostalgia esses dias e eu voltei a ouvir. "On Your Way Down" é maravilhosa e o tal de Lowell George era fera mesmo no slide. Só que bateu com as botas. Pena. Mas a banda segue na ativa até hoje, sei lá como. Muito legal mesmo esse disco. Top 3: "Roll Um Easy","On Your Way Down" e "Fool Yourself". Little Feat is a band that make me remember a real good time that happens in my life when I moved from São Paulo to Belo Horizonte. At the time, I was listen this album and Sailin' Shoes a lot. Don't know why they're back in my mp3 player, but still sounds great to me. Lowell George was a hell of guitar player. Unfortunately, he's not with us anymore. But his music is timeless! Boris - [2008] Statement 7"

Boris é provavelmente uma das três melhores bandas do mundo hoje. Eu num sou muito fã do lado experimental deles. Gosto mais quando eles vão pra veia mais rock n' roll como nesse single aqui. Essa Wata é uma puta guitarrista (sem trocadilhos) e, sei lá, eu gosto da aparência deles, visualmente falando. Como Ela, a minha tutora costuma dizer, "num aguento banda com integrante com cara de bancário". Esse deve ser ouvido muito, mas muito alto mesmo. Pra quem gosta de: Kyuss, Mudhoney, Melvins, Torche e Mechanics.

I'm not quite sure, but maybe Boris is one of the best bands in the whole world. I'm not a big fan of their experimental/drone side, but I really love their rock/stoner/sludge records. And Wata, geez, what a guitar player! And there is another thing in Boris that I like. Their style. I know that what really matters is music, but come on, I'm tired of all those bands dressing like their working in a bank. Anyway, listen this one as loud as you can.
