O adoradores do Clapton podem reclamar a vontade (e eu sou um deles) mas o Cream pra mim é Jack Bruce e CIA. Como cantava esse homem. Infelizmente, dizem que ele é o ser mais antipático do mundo. Paciência. Mas um cara que escreve "We're Going Wrong" e canta "Spoonful" do jeito que ele canta, pode ser chato a vontade. Top 3: "Crossroads" , "We're Going Wrong" , "SWLABR". The Black Crowes - [2008] Warpaint

Com o ano chegando ao fim, já dá pra dar o posto de melhor disco do ano de 2008 para o Warpaint do Black Crowes. A não ser que o tal do Chinese Democracy do Guns N' Roses seja aquela coisa... Dig Out Your Soul do Oasis bateu na trave, mas num teve jeito, os irmãos Robinson levam o grande prêmio, na minha (quase) modesta opinião. Acho que o principal mérito do disco é a duração. Cinquenta minutos, não muito longo. Num aguento mais aqueles discos que tem 15 musicas e não acabam mais. Chris está cantando maravilhosamente bem e as composições são as mais coesas desde Three Snakes & One Charm de 1996. Outro ponto forte é ver que o Chris, ao contrário da maioria dos seus contemporâneos envelheceu muito bem (viu Sr. Cornell e Sr. Vedder). Legal também é ficar identificando as mensagens (e os xingos) pra Kate Hudson nas letras. Demorou pra sair mas valeu muito a pena! Top 3: "Walk Believer Walk", "Wee Who See The Deep", "Locust Street". Pra quem gosta de: North Mississippi All-Stars, Gov't Mule, Buffallo Killers, Wilco e Black Keys.

With the year almost finishing, I choose Warpaint of The Black Crowes as the best album of the year 2008. Ok, I'm still waiting to hear Chinese Democracy and Dig Out Your Soul almost get the first place, but the Robinson's Brothers make it again. This album has the most cohesive set of songs since Three Snakes & One Charm. Chris is singing brightly and soulful than ever and the addition of Luther Dickinson in lead guitar brings a new power to the band. Simply great! Top 3: "Walk Believer Walk", "Wee Who See The Deep", "Locust Street". For those who likes: North Mississippi All-Stars, Gov't Mule, Buffallo Killers, Wilco e Black Keys.

Twilight Singers - [2003] Blackberry Belle

Greg Dulli vem se provando um cara muito talentoso através dos anos. Seja com o Afghan Whigs, com o Twilight Singers ou com o Gutter Twins, o cara sempre mostra bom serviço. Mais ou menos o que acontece com o Mark Lanegan (que aparece aqui na faixa "Number Nine"), o John Garcia e o Chris Goss. Esse é o único do Twilight que já ouvi inteiro e, apesar de num ser tão diferente assim dos Whigs, é um belo de um disco. Bom pra qualquer hora. Top 3: "Teenage Wristband" , "The Killer", "Number Nine". Pra quem gosta de: Afghan Whigs, Mark Lanegan, Gutter Twins, Eleven e Brad.

Greg Dulli has been proved that he is a very talented guy over the years. With all of his bands (Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, Gutter Twins), he's been shown a very good work. This one, Blackberry Belle, is the only one of Twilight that I've hearded entirely and even sounding like a Afghan Whigs record, it's still a very good work. This is a good listen for any hour of the day. Top 3: "Teenage Wristband" , "The Killer" , "Number Nine". For those who likes: Afghan Whigs, Mark Lanegan, Gutter Twins, Eleven and Brad.

Praticamente um tratado do Stoner Rock. A combinação instrumental pesado e vocais doces dão um charme pra esse disco que dá gosto! Josh Homme é definitivamente um dos melhores guitarristas (e talvez o mais subestimado) dos anos 90. Simplesmente excelente! Top 3: "Walkin On The Sidewalks" , "How To Handle A Hope" e "Mexicola". Pra quem gosta de: Masters Of Reality, Fu Manchu, Soundgarden, Kyuss e Nebula. Mais um da série de discos com ótimas capas =P

A um tempo atrás, eu comentei que o Hollywood Town Hall do Jayhawks era o melhor pra começar a gostar da banda, mas não o melhor da discografia deles. Eis aqui o disco em que eu acho que as melhores composições da banda se encontram. Não tão diferente do Hollywood... , mas o backin vocal feminino dá um charme a mais para o som. Muito, mas muito bom mesmo! Top 3: "Blue" , "Two Hearts" , "Bad Time". Pra quem gosta de: Wilco, Black Crowes, Ryan Adams, Victoria Williams e Neil Young.

Hermano - [2005] Dare I Say...

Tudo que o John Garcia faz é legal, impressionante. De bandas a participações, ele acerta em tudo. Esse mês ele deve lançar seu primeiro disco solo. To aguardando ansiosamente. Enquanto isso, ficamos com o Hermano, banda que começou como projeto paralelo ao Unida mas acabou virando titular da coisa toda. Rock N'Roll pé em baixo e bem raivoso. Bom pra dirigir (pelo menos é o que dizem, eu num tenho carteira de motorista =P). A banda ainda conta com Steve Earle, ex-Afghan Whigs na bateria. Danzig - [1988] Danzig 1

Esse disco é da época em que Glenn Danzig ainda ocupava seu tempo gravando discos legais ao invés de ficar adorando o todo-poderoso Satã. Mais ou menos um misto de Black Sabbath com The Doors, esse disco é um clássico do fim da década de 80. Hoje, o senhor Danzig tá mais ocupado em dar uma de Incrível Hulk, infelizmente. A um século ele tá prometendo um disco de blues com Jerry Cantrell, mas pelo jeito parece ser conversa fiada. Que pena. Mas o disco é sonzeira! Top 3: "Twist Of Cain" , "Soul On Fire", "Am I Demon". This record is from the time that Glenn Danzig was more ocuppied recording good albuns than spreading the word of the all mighty Satan. Something between The Doors and Black Sabbath, Danzig I is a classic from 80's. Today, Danzig is more busy trying to be The Incredible Hulk, unfortunately. What a shame.
