Pascalito asked for this one last week so here it is. A good one, but I pick "Emperor Deb" as Black Moses' best album. This one is fun anyway. Cheers. Thee Hypnotics - [1991] Soul, Glitter & Sin (Tales From The sonic Underworld)

O disco mais fraco da carreira deles começa bem com "Shakedown" mas lá pela metade do disco perde a força. Tanto que a banda parou pra uma folga depois desse disco. Voltaram dois anos depois para um ultimo (e ótimo) disco, "Very Speed Crystal Machine". Vale pela curiosidade. Top 3: "Shakedown" , "Kissed By The Flames" , "Point Blank 'Mistery". Pra quem gosta de: Stooges, Black Moses, MC5, Mudhoney e Jesus and The Mary Chain.

Not of their best, but still a good record. It starts with the powerful rocker "Shakedown" but in the middle of the record, the song have a lack of power and inspiration. After this release, the band took 2 years before their last album, the great "Very Speed Crystal Machine". Top 3: "Shakedown" , "Kissed By The Flames" , "Point Blank 'Mistery". For those who likes: Stooges, Black Moses, MC5, Mudhoney and Jesus and The Mary Chain.

Thee Hypnotics - [1990] Come Down Heavy

No final dos anos 80, o Thee Hypnotics apareceu na cena underground da Inglaterra causando furor na imprenssa britânica. Eram dados como a nova sensação da coisa toda mas, por algum motivo inexplicado até agora, alguém simplesmente desconversou o assunto. Daí pro esquecimento foi um pulo. E com certeza não é por causa do som, que é de ótima qualidade. Nem falta de carisma, já que o Jim Jones é um ótimo frontman, com muita presença. A coisa simplesmente não aconteceu. Entre 1989 e 1994, a banda soultou 4 discos e alguns singles com um som calcado em Stooges e Pretty Things com uma sujeira meio Mudhoney. Esse é o segundo disco deles, o primeiro em estúdio (sim, o primeiro foi ao vivo!). Agora em 2008 vai sair um documentário sobre a banda lá na Inglaterra. Bem que podia rolar uma reunião junto. No aguardo... Top 3: "Half Man, Half Boy" , "(Let It) Come Down Heavy" , "Revolution Stone". Pra quem gosta de: Mudhoney, Blue Cheer, Stooges, Pretty Things e MC5.

At the end of 80's, Thee Hypnotics appears in the underground scene of England, making them the new favourites ones of UK press. But, for some reason that is still unknown, everything goin wrong with them, causing the break-up of the band in 1995. In this second record (the first one was recorded live!) the band shows a sound that approaches with the fuzz rock of Mudhoney, but a little more (obviously) english like Pretty Things. Pure Rock N' Roll!!! Top 3: "Half Man, Half Boy" , "(Let It) Come Down Heavy" , "Revolution Stone". For those who likes: Mudhoney, Blue Cheer, Stooges, Pretty Things e MC5.

O Black Moses foi formado cinco anos após o fim do Thee Hypnotics, banda do vocalista Jim Jones e que fez relativo sucesso no começo dos 90 na Inglaterra. Jones teve cinco anos pra se aperfeiçoar na guitarra e montar esse Power Trio. O resultado é legal, mas dá impressão que falta justamente um guitarrista de formação, o que deixa o som sem a mesma pegada maravilhosa que os Hypnotics tinham. Ainda sim, uma boa pedida que passou desapercebida no ano de seu lançamento. Top 3: "Second Skin", "Strange Life" e "Eye On You". Para aqueles que gosta de: Thee Hypnotics, Mudhoney, Forgotten Boys, Telescopes e Nebula.

Black Moses starts five years after the broke up of Thee Hypnotics, band of singer Jim Jones that made some sucess in underground scene of UK in 90's. So, Jones have five years to build his skill in guitar to form this power trio. The result is very enjoyable, but the abscence of another guitarrist left the sound without the same crunchy sound that build the fabulous sound opf Hypnotics. But still is a great record that was underrated at the time of its release. "Second Skin", "Strange Life" and "Eye On You". For Those Who Likes: Thee Hypnotics, Mudhoney, Forgotten Boys, Telescopes e Nebula.
