Eu não sou muito conhecedor ou fã da obra do Gary Moore, mas sei que ele era um ótimo guitarrista. Como homenagem, fica aqui esse ótimo disco do Thin Lizzy, o único da banda em que ele toca em todas as músicas. RIP Gary Moore.

MC5 - [1971] High Time

Sei lá por que parei de postar também em inglês. A idéia era se comunicar mais fácil com todo mundo, principalmente com os latino americanos, por mais estranho que isso pareça, ehhehe. Enfim, MC5 é uma banda que eu sempre gostei e High Time é o album deles que eu mais gosto. Sister Anne e Baby Won't Ya são as minhas preferidas mas Over and Over e Future/Now são ótimas também. Num fui no show do DKT/MC5 em 2005 em SP e acho que eles já deviam ter voltado pro Brasil. Parece que o Handsome Manitoba dos Dictators tá no vocal agora, o que deve ter ficado bem interessante. Enfim, esse é pra quem gosta de: Stooges, Hellacopters, Mudhoney, Thee Hypnotics e Dictators.

Freddie King - [1973] Woman Across The River

De hoje em diante, o primeiro post nessa tranqueira aqui vai ser um disco de blues. Por quê? Ué, se você não gosta de blues, dê o fora daqui safado! Enfim, meu pai tem esse disco em viníl e eu escutava quando pequeno quando ele colocava na vitrola e tal. Engraçado que ele nunca passava da terceira faixa, eheheh. Ele sempre muda os discos antes do final, véio doido. Bom, dos três Kings, o Freddie é o meu preferido. Dá uma escutada nos timbres da guitarra desse negão. Coisa única! Flower Travellin' Band - [1971] Satori

FTB era uma espécie de Black Sabbath/Led Zeppelin japonês, mas não uma mera cópia do hard rock britânico que era feito no começo dos anos 70. Apesar deles terem começado como uma banda quase cover, nesse disco eles fizeram sua obra-prima. Satori é um disco de cinco musicas (ou partes) que tem no hard rock um pouco de musica tradicional japonesa, o que dá uma mistura bem legal. Eles voltaram a ativa em 2008 e até lançaram um disco que eu ainda não ouvi. Enfim, bem antes do Boris e do Church of Misery, o Japão já tinha otimas bandas e o FTB é minha preferida. Apreciem. Pra quem gosta de: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Blues Creation, Budgie e King Crimson.

FTB was a japanese band from the 70's that sounds like a son of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath but with a obvious oriental flavour. Satori is their masterpiece and it is divided in five tracks (or parts) with a great hard rock sound with doses of progressive and japanese folk music. They made their come back in 2008 and even relesead an album but I still didn't have the oportunity to check. More than 30 years ago, Japan has already great rock bands and FTB is my favorite one. Interesting that Green Machine, another japanese band has a similar album cover to Satori. Anyway, enjoy. For those who likes: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Blues Creation, Budgie and King Crimson.

O mais melancolico disco do Neil Young é meu preferido. Tão bonito! Principalmente a faixa-titulo e "For The Turnstiles". Simplesmente perfeito. Top 3: "Revolution Blues", "For The Turnstiles" e "On The Beach". Pra quem gosta de: Rodriguez, Stephen Stills, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield e Wilco.

Little Feat - [1973] Dixie Chicken

Little Feat é uma banda que me lembra uma época muito legal quando eu me mudei para Belo Horizonte. Ouvia todos os dias na volta da faculdade. Sei lá por que, bateu uma nostalgia esses dias e eu voltei a ouvir. "On Your Way Down" é maravilhosa e o tal de Lowell George era fera mesmo no slide. Só que bateu com as botas. Pena. Mas a banda segue na ativa até hoje, sei lá como. Muito legal mesmo esse disco. Top 3: "Roll Um Easy","On Your Way Down" e "Fool Yourself". Pra quem gosta de: Black Crowes, Allman Brothers Band, Neil Young, Jayhawks e Bufallo Killers.

Little Feat is a band that make me remember a real good time that happens in my life when I moved from São Paulo to Belo Horizonte. At the time, I was listen this album and Sailin' Shoes a lot. Rodriguez - [1970] Cold Fact

Sixto Rodriguez foi um cantor dos EUA que nunca vingou muito em seu próprio país e que, no fim das contas, foi fazer sucesso na Africa do Sul. O cara era meio hermitão e se achava a ultima bolacha do pacote. Fazia um som folk, violão e voz com uma banda bem discreta atrás, o que nos leva a comparação óbvia com o Dylan. Mas na boa, esse único album do chicano aqui é melhor que 90% da discografia do Dylan. Sério! Ouçam e concordem, ehhehe. 5 Estrelas esse aqui. Top 3: "Sugar Man", "Forget It" e "Rich Folks Hoax". Pra quem gosta de: Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Donovan, Simon & Garfunkel e Joni Mitchell.

Sixto Rodriguez was an american singer-songwriter that never breakthrough in US charts or mainstream. But his song are real gems, just like Dylan did at the time (and sometimes, even better). With only an acoustic guitar, a nasal voice and a discripted band, this man really grabs your atention with his songs. One of the best records that I have ever heard in my life. A lost classic. Entre as milhares bandas de blues rock dos anos 70, essa japonesa é uma das que me chamam mais a atenção. Muito melhor do que grande parte das americanas ou inglesas como Savoy Brown, Foghat, Chicken Shack e outras. Pelo menos, mais original. Rory Gallagher - [1976] Calling Card

Depois de 12 tentativas (!!!), finalmente eu consegui subir esse album, que é um clássico por sinal. Pra mim o Rory dava um cacete no SRV e em muitos outros brancos metidos a blueseiros. Calma, calma, eu adoro SRV, só que o Gallagher era um capeta tocando. O Irish Tour prova que ele era muito mais guitarrista do que qualquer americano da época. Enfim, altamente recomendado esse aqui. O cara fazia estrago na Strato dele hein?! Top 3: "Do You Read Me?", "Country Mile" e "Calling Card". Pra quem gosta de: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple.

After 12 attempts in different host sites, finally I brought to you all this fantastic masterpiece by Mr. Gallager. Well, in my humble opinion, Rory could beat SRV anytime he wants. Of course that I love SRV and other white american guitar players, but Gallagher put something different in the way that we all play blues nowadays. Leaf Hound - [1971] Growers Of Mushroom

Tenho ouvido bastante esse Leaf Hound. A primeira vez que eu ouvi tem uns duzentos anos, mas não ouvia fazia um bom tempo. Só lembrei deles por que tava ouvindo o "The Great Divide" do Unida e eles tocam "Stray" que está nesse mesmo disco. Então eu lembrei deles e resolvi ouvir de novo. Ainda acho bem bom, só que o Peter French irrita um pouco as vezes por que ele imita demais o estilo do Plant. Mas é bom mesmo assim. Top 3: "Freelance Fiend", "Work My Body", "Stray". Kiss - [1978] Ace Frehley

Entre os quatro discos solo lançados em 78 pelo Kiss, o do Ace Frehley é meu preferido. É o único que tem cara de disco mesmo e não apenas um conjunto de musicas na mesma gravação. As vezes eu fico imaginando se quando eles iam gravar, eles tocavam maquiados, ehhehe. Deve ser uma cena engraçada eles de bermuda, chinelo havaianas, guitarra no colo e maquiagem no rosto, eheh. O disco inteiro é legal, prazeroso de ouvir, com destaque para o tom meio western de Ozone. Top 3: "Ozone", "What's On Your Mind", "New York Groove". Pra quem gosta de: Kiss, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick e Nazareth.

Among the four solo records released in 78' by Kiss, Ace Frehley's is my favourite. It's the only one that have a real full album style and not just a bunch of songs together in the same record. Sometimes I think if they recorded the records in studio using the make up, heehehe. It's funny to think about a guy playing guitar with shorts, slippers and make up, ehhe. Whatever, the whole record is very cool and enjoyable. Ozone is my favourite with all that western mood. Top 3: "Ozone", "What's On Your Mind", "New York Groove". Esse é o único disco do Neil que ainda não ganhou uma versão em cd. Então, se você tiver o LP, proteja-o com sua vida, pois provavelmente ele vai valer uma fortuna se a situação continuar a mesma. Na turnê de 73, Neil Young resolveu tocar algumas inéditas e tal. Gravou todas elas e lançou nesse disco, o que é bem legal pois só existem versões dessas músicas ao vivo. E é ao vivo que Neil Young mostra por que ele é o cara mais legal do rock. Vida longa ao Tio Neil! Top 3: "Time Fades Away", "Don't Be Denied", "Last Dance". Pra quem gosta de: Bob Dylan, Big Star, Creedence Cleartwater Revival, Joni Mitchell e Van Morrison.

This is the only record in Neil Young's catalog that still doesn't released as a CD. So, if you have this lp in your home in some vault under your stairs, keep it there! It must value a lot of money now. Whatever, Neil Young record this album in his american tour in 73. He play all these inedit material and put together in this album. James Gang - [1971] Thirds

Outra banda superestimada na minha opinião pelos "velhos" rockeiros. Claro que o "Rides Again" é um ótimo disco, mas falar que eles eram uma grande banda é forçar um pouco. Boa banda, só. Tirando "Walk Away", num tem nada de muito marcante nesse disco. E tem gente que chama de clássico, pffff. Top 3: "Walk Away", "Midnight Man", "White Man, Black Man". Para aqueles que gostam de: Grand Funk Railroad, Status Quo, The Who, Eagles e Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

Another overrated band in my opinion. "Rides Again", their second record is very good and enjoyable, but this "Thirds" is nothing more than ok. They were just a good band, nothing exceptional. Grand Funk Railroad - [1970] Closer To Home

O pessoal que viveu os anos 70 insiste que o Grand Funk Railroad é uma bandassa. Pera lá! Eles são no máximo uma banda boa. Nada de extraordinário. Faziam musicas legais, discos legais, mas nada de fantastico. Red Album eu acho um ótimo disco, muito bom mesmo, mas ouvir que este Closer To Home é um clássico é exagerar um pouco. Por exemplo, "Get It Together" e "Hooked On Love" tem os piores backing vocals que eu já ouvi na minha vida! Jesus Cristo! que mulheres péssimas! Em compensação, "Sin's A Good Man's Brother" é muito boa, assim como "Mean Mistreater" e "Nothing Is The Same". Fora que essas letrinhas de paz e amor são um saco, esse papo todo de "brothers and sisters, isso e aquilo, i love the human race" ... baaah. Disco bonzinho no máximo. Pior ainda é ouvir que o Grand Funk é uma banda pesada ... esse pessoal não sabe o que é Black Sabbath não? Top 3: "Sin's A Good Man's Brother" , "Nothing Is The Same" , "Mean Mistreater". Pra quem gosta de: Cactus, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin, James Gang e Mountain.

People who lived in 70's insists that Grand Funk Railroad is a great band. C'mon, they are nothing more than a good band, nothing really fantastic. Ok, "Red Album" is a very good album, but this "Closer To Home" is not that thing. For example, "Get It Together" and "Hooked On Love" have the worst backing vocals that i've heard in my whole life! Christ, those women singing is terrible. But being fair, "Sin's A Good Man's Brother" is a great track, with a catchy riff. The same happens to "Mean Mistreater" and "Nothing Is The Same". Well, is a good album for sure, but not a classic. Just a good album. The annoying thing is hear people calling GFR as a heavy band. They never listened to Black Sabbath? Top 3: "Sin's A Good Man's Brother" , "Nothing Is The Same" , "Mean Mistreater". For those who likes: Cactus, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin, James Gang and Mountain.

Eagles - [1973] Desperado

Eagles é sem duvida nenhuma a maior farsa da história do rock! O bandinha sem graça. Eu tento gostar deles, vivo dando chance pra eles, mas eles sempre voltam pra lista das bandas enganadoras (U2, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, P.J.Harvey...). Tirando "Out Of Control", todas as outras músicas são bem aquém do esperado. Alias, nem sei por que to postando eles aqui, ehehhe. Top 3: "Out Of Control", "Tequilla Sunrise", "Desperado". Pra quem gosta de: James Gang, The Byrds, Lisa Ronstadt, James Taylor e Flying Burrito Brothers.
