Acho que sou a unica pessoa do mundo que acha o vocal do Lee Dorrian bom, eheheh. Num é um Dio ou um Eric Wagner, mas ele é bom sim. Quer dizer, eu não canto como ele, infelizmente. Cathedral é uma banda que eu tenho curtido mais e mais nos ultimos tempos principalmente pela mudança do som através da carreira. Essa é a graça de bandas como os Stones, o Rush, o Clutch e o Cathedral. São bandas que você sabe que quando sair um disco novo, vai existir algo realmente novo nas músicas. Nem sempre as apostas dão certo, mas é um risco, admirável por sinal, que se corre. Por acaso, a trinca "Ride", "Enter The Worms" e "Midnight Mountain" é fantástica. Discasso!

Maybe I'm the only person in the world that think that Lee Dorrian's vocals are very good. Well, he's not Dio or Eric Wagner, but he's cool. The thing that i like most in Cathedral sound are the changes that you find in every new record. You never know what you're going to listen. It's like Clutch or Rush or even the Stones. There's always something different, not necessarily good, but different, new. Anyway, pay attention to the flawless sequence in "Ride", "Enter The Worms" and "Midnight Mountain". Fantastic, isn't it? What a record!

Esse disco é o meio de campo entre o primeiro e o novo Burning Your House Down do The Jim Jones Revue, banda do ex-vocal do Thee Hypnotics. Esse aqui compila os três singles do primeiro disco e o primeiro do novo album. Rock N' Roll básico no sentido extremo e ligado no 220v. Fazia tempo que eu não ouvia uma banda com tanta energia e furia no som. O formato single devia ser mais trabalhado pelas gravadoras aqui no Brasil. Me lembro que comprei esse single do Iron Maiden por uns 5 paus nas Lojas Americanas e acabei gostando muito. Eu num sou nem nunca fui fã de Maiden, mas o preço me chamou a vista e resolvi dar uma arriscada. Num virei fã da banda nem nada, mas acabou que o single me "fisgou" e eu comprei umas semanas depois o Number of the Beast. Ou seja, conseguiram me fazer comprar um cd de uma banda que eu num sou muito chegado e tals. O lance num é vender pros fãs, por que esses compram de qualquer jeito, é atiçar a curiosidade dos não-fãs como eu. Enfim, muito legal a faixa titulo e a b-side é uma versão ao vivo de Hallowed Be Thy Name bem interessante também (a risada maligna do Bruce Dickinson no final é doida). Divirtam-se.

No começo do mês eu fui no show do Heaven & Hell aqui em Belo Horizonte e tenho que dizer que não esperava tanto. PULTA QUE O PARIU! Como pode um homem de 67 anos cantar tudo isso? Eu já gostava dele, pra mim é um dos top 10 do metal, mas agora virei fã! E se alguém quer virar fã dele também, tem que começar ou pelo Heaven & Hell do Sabbath ou por esse aqui. O disco é tão bom que parece um greatest hits. É, o homi é o capeta! Top 3: "Holy Diver", "Don't Talk To Strangers" e "Straight To The Heart". In the beggining of this month, I went to a Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath) concert here in Belo Horizonte and I have to say that I was'nt expect that much from this old man. But, HOLY SHIT (or diver...), this man sings like no one. Top singer for sure. And he is in his 67! This record is, together with Heaven & Hell, a good one to start to admire this great artist. É diferente de tudo que o Motörhead já fez, tem um jeitão mais blues. Desagradou muitos fãs na época, mas é facinho um dos meus discos preferidos deles. This is my oficial soundtrack when I'm playing Bejeweled 2, hehe. The guitar work by Brian "Robbo" Robertson in this record is what that really atracts me in this album.
