No começo do mês eu fui no show do Heaven & Hell aqui em Belo Horizonte e tenho que dizer que não esperava tanto. PULTA QUE O PARIU! Como pode um homem de 67 anos cantar tudo isso? Eu já gostava dele, pra mim é um dos top 10 do metal, mas agora virei fã! E se alguém quer virar fã dele também, tem que começar ou pelo Heaven & Hell do Sabbath ou por esse aqui. In the beggining of this month, I went to a Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath) concert here in Belo Horizonte and I have to say that I was'nt expect that much from this old man. But, HOLY SHIT (or diver...), this man sings like no one. Top singer for sure. And he is in his 67! This record is, together with Heaven & Hell, a good one to start to admire this great artist. Essa é a minha trilha sonora oficial para jogar Bejeweled 2, ehhehe. O que eu mais gosto nesse disco é o trabalho de guitarra do Brian "Robbo" Robertson. É diferente de tudo que o Motörhead já fez, tem um jeitão mais blues. Desagradou muitos fãs na época, mas é facinho um dos meus discos preferidos deles. This is my oficial soundtrack when I'm playing Bejeweled 2, hehe. The guitar work by Brian "Robbo" Robertson in this record is what that really atracts me in this album. It's different than anything that Motörhead ever did before or after it's release. I know that most of the fans were a little disappointed, but for me is one of their best records. I just love it. Michael Monroe (v) e Andy McCoy (g) são uma espécie de Mick Jagger e Keith Richards do Glam Rock. Esse disco é um clássico do genêro. Sintetiza tudo que veio antes e influenciou tudo que veio depois. Mas o legal é que eles tem alguma coisa de punk, de The Clash pra ser mais preciso. Sonzera. Uma das melhores descobertas que fiz nos ultimos meses. Top 3: "Stop Cryin'" , "Lost In The City" e "First Timer". Pra quem gosta de: Guns N' Roses, Sweet, Motley Crue, Stooges e New York Dolls.

Seattle Sound #2: Alice In Chains tem pra mim uma das melhores duplas de compositores da história do rock. Impressionante como os talentos do Jerry e do Layne se encaixam. Neste EP, primeiro lançamento da banda, o som deles ainda estava se formando, ainda tinha um jeitão meio hard-rock, principalmente a ultima faixa, Killing Yourself. Seattle Sound #4: Foi o Mudhoney que colocou Seattle no cenário do rock mundial, isso não tem discussão. E em 1988 eles já eram demais de bons. E o tempo não afeta essa banda. Vi eles ao vivo em 2006 em São Paulo abrindo pro Pearl Jam e, sinceramente, o Pearl Jam que devia ter aberto o show pro Mudhoney. Que paulada! I saw them in 2006 opening for Pearl Jam in São Paulo and, to be honest, Pearl Jam who should open for Mudhoney. They are way better than PJ live. One of the best concerts that i ever saw! Seattle Sound #7: Frequentemente eu vejo ou leio em algum lugar alguém falar que se não fosse a morte do Andrew Wood, o Mother Love Bone seria o que foi o Nirvana. Eu acho um exagero, mas tudo bem. O MLB é talvez a banda com o som mais diferente de Seattle, voltado para um som mais hard rock. Não tiveram tempo de fazer sucesso, já que Andrew Wood morreu em 1990. Pena. Top Top: "Thru Fade Away". Seattle Sound #7: I read or hear often people saying that if Andrew Wood doesn't die in 1990, Mother Love Bone will be what Nirvana was for the 90's. Well, for me this is an exaggeration, but it's ok. MLB plays a sound a litte bit diferent than the other Seattle bands, more focused in classic hard rock. They disband after Andrew Wood found dead in his room, before they breakthrough to the mainstream charts. Top Top: "Thru Fade Away". Seattle Sound #9: Green River foi a primeira banda a realmente importar na cena de Seattle. Depois de desfeita, alguns membros formaram o Mudhoney, outros formaram o Mother Love Bone. Neste EP é notável que Mark Arm era o líder e direcionava a banda em seu som. Muito interessante pra entender como tudo começou. Top Top: "Swallow My Pride". Danzig - [1988] Danzig 1

Esse disco é da época em que Glenn Danzig ainda ocupava seu tempo gravando discos legais ao invés de ficar adorando o todo-poderoso Satã. Mais ou menos um misto de Black Sabbath com The Doors, esse disco é um clássico do fim da década de 80. Hoje, o senhor Danzig tá mais ocupado em dar uma de Incrível Hulk, infelizmente. A um século ele tá prometendo um disco de blues com Jerry Cantrell, mas pelo jeito parece ser conversa fiada. Que pena. Mas o disco é sonzeira! Top 3: "Twist Of Cain" , "Soul On Fire", "Am I Demon". Pra quem gosta de: Black Sabbath, The Doors, The Cult, Led Zeppelin e Alice In Chains.

This record is from the time that Glenn Danzig was more ocuppied recording good albuns than spreading the word of the all mighty Satan. Something between The Doors and Black Sabbath, Danzig I is a classic from 80's. Today, Danzig is more busy trying to be The Incredible Hulk, unfortunately. What a shame. Husker Du - [1987] Warehouse: Songs and Stories

Peguei pra ouvir meses atrás e gostei. Esse é o ultimo albúm deles, lançado em 1987 e até agora o unico que eu ouvi. Não é da fase mais hardcore deles, tendo um som um pouco mais próximo com o que o R.E.M. e os Replacements faziam na década de 80. Algum tempo depois, o guitarra/vocal Bob Mould montou o Sugar, que é bem legal por sinal. A voz do Grant Hart é um pouco chatinha, sendo que as musicas mais legais tem o vocal do Mould. Top 6! (o disco é duplo): "Charity, Chastity, Prudence, and Hope" , "Ice Cold Ice" , "Could You Be the One?" , "Bed of Nails" , "It's Not Peculiar" , "You Can Live at Home" . This is the only record that i heard from Husker Du and it is a pretty good one. This is less hardcore than his predecessors, sounding more like R.E.M. and The Replacements.
