The Donnas - [2007] Bitchin'

Quando tava aquela onda de Strokes, alguem me falou que The Donnas era uma banda na mesma linha que eu tinha que ouvir. Como eu num sou lá muito chegado nos Nova Iorquinos, eu deixei pra lá e nem ouvi. Anos depois, eis que minha namorada me passa e fala "ouve que é legal". Agora eu me pergunto: de onde aquela anta de pessoa no passado tirou a idéia que The Donnas parece Strokes? O som delas é mil vezes mais parecido com o do Kiss do que com qualquer coisa dos Strokes. E sem usar muito o meu gigantesco cérebro, eu consigo achar umas 15 referências mais parecidas que os Strokes. Enfim, quanto ao som, segue a linha de um Hard Rock meio adolescente, com jeito de filme americano e tals, bom pra ouvir de vez em quando. O destaque fica pra guitarrista Allison Robertson, que tem muito bom gosto e emula o Ace Frehley muito bem. Bela banda! Top 3: "Don't Wait Up For Me", "Like An Animal", "Love You Till It Hurts". Pra quem gosta de: Kiss, AC/DC, Runaways, Ramones, Girschool e Sahara Hotnights.

When Strokes appears in the beggining of 2000's, somebody told me that The Donnas have something similar with the boys from NY, wich doesn't make me interested in them. This year, my girlfriend came to me and said: "hey, listen to this" with a Donnas' record. So I listened one, two, thousand times and a have this question: WHAT WAS THAT PEOPLE FROM LONG AGO HAS FOUND SOMETHING SIMILAR BETWEEN STROKES AND THE DONNAS???? The sound is totally diferent! Whatever, The Donnas are a really good band, with good guitar parts and a funny sound that make you sing with them easily. Allison Robertson, the guitar player, is really good and emulates almost everything that Ace Frehley did a long time ago. Good band! And what a good cover, huh?! Top 3: "Don't Wait Up For Me", "Like An Animal", "Love You Till It Hurts". For those who likes: Kiss, AC/DC, Runaways, Ramones, Girschool e Sahara Hotnights.
